Christmas, Goofy Siblings, and Hearty Laughs — A Heavenly Feeling
Getting To Spend The Holiday With My Siblings Is The Best Highlight Of My Year
If there was one thing I miss so badly about my childhood and adolescent years; it was spending quality time with my family and extended family during the holidays when we traveled to my hometown.
The carefree days when we thought about nothing more than our next holiday meal, a good afternoon nap, and our decreet hometown sightseeing adventures.
I miss those days, when my siblings and I were inseparable, and we'd laugh nonstop at our silly jokes and caricatures of my grand dad and mom - God rest their souls.
In the last two years, family reunions have been in breaks of twos and threes which are all we’ve got giving the life changes that rapidly occurred as we matured.
However, this year, I'm overly grateful that I got to experience that heavenly feeling of spending time with family and my siblings as we make preparations to lay my late grandmother to rest.
I call this moment the best highlight of my year, because it feels like a golden moment, and I want to savor all of it for as long as it lasts.
With granny gone, there won’t be much compelling grounds for us all to come back home in large groups anymore. That certainly hurts, because there’ll be long time jumps before we are gathered together as a full family.
So, I have resolved to document this moment in history and memory as one of my monumental moments and the best highlights of 2022, while basking in the beautiful feeling all around me.
